ACO Ashley Pinger
Ashley is the Animal Control Officer and a native of Hinsdale. She became interested in animals at an early age. Spending the summer months of high school volunteering her time at the Monadnock Regional Humane Society. After graduating from Hinsdale High School, she pursued the studies of Veterinary Technology at Mount Ida College in Newton, Ma. Her education involved farm animals, small animals, exotics, wildlife, pocket pets and laboratory animals. One class involved going to Tufts University for the handling of livestock. Her externships consisted of working at two area veterinary hospitals and the Franklin Park Zoo located in Boston, Ma.
Shortly after graduating from the four year program with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, she was hired at Windham Veterinary Clinic, now VCA Windham Animal Hospital. Once established with the hospital, she took the National Veterinary Technician Exam to become a Certified Veterinary Technologist. There she became the Technician Supervisor evently becoming the Hospital Manager. During her nineteen years at the hospital, she has worked partime in retail, lodging & hospitality. The main focus in veterinary medicine is prevention, which she carries over into animal control.
