Police Officer

The Town of Hinsdale Police Department currently has one full-time patrol officer position open.  We are actively accepting applications for this opening.

Minimum Qualifications: All applicants for the Hinsdale Police Department must be United States citizens; high school graduates, or possesses a GED certificate; and meets the state age requirement of at least 21 years. College education and/or military experience are highly desirable.

General Duties: Duties include patrol, law enforcement, and providing for general public safety. This may include the investigation of crimes, identification and apprehension of offenders, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, and providing emergency services. Applicants should have excellent communication skills. Applicants must be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively. Starting salary is between $37,564 to $50,170 annualized based on experience, plus a competitive benefit package and incentive program. Full-Time certified police applicants are preferred.  In-State Full-Time certified applicants are eligible for a $10,000.00 sign on bonus, which requires a 3-year training agreement if hired.  Out of state Full-Time police certified are eligible for a $7,000.00 sign on bonus, which requires a 3-year training agreement if hired.  Further information can be obtained by calling 603-336-5723.

Part-Time  Administrative Assistant/Dispatcher

The Hinsdale Police Department is currently seeking a part-time dispatcher to work 25 hours per week.  This position will require an afternoon/evening schedule 5 days a week.  The qualified candidate should possesses above average communication skills, the ability to multi-task, work under moderate stress, possess strong computer skills, and have the ability to communicate with emergency services on a radio communications system.  This position also requires the qualified candidate to possess strong website management skills and will require the daily management and posting of items to social media and the department website.
