On December 19, 2017, Animal Control Officer (ACO) Pinger responded to the Route 63 Country Store for a skunk "casing" the store for a couple of days. When ACO Pinger arrived, she was able to identify the skunk as Pepe La Pew and learned that he had been injured while searching for the love of his life.
ACO Pinger determined that Pepe needed to be taken into protective custody for evaluation of his injury and he appeared to be "Love Sick" however; Pepe was not all that cooperative with this decision. After a brief disagreement between Pepe and ACO Pinger he was successfully captured and was brought to the Winchester Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (previously seen on the TV show North Woods Law) where he will be evaluated and treated.
Much to her dismay, ACO Pinger ended her day early for a desperately needed shower, and uniform change. All employees and officers on duty were instrumental in convincing ACO Pinger she should leave work early yesterday. At this time we do not plan on charging Pepe with using a chemical spray on a Law Enforcement employee. ... See MoreSee Less

As a reminder the Town of Hinsdale parking ban is in effect due to the winter storm. No vehicles are allowed to be parked on any street within the town to allow for our roadway crews to keep the roadways clear and as safe as possible. If roadway crews call us to report that their efforts are being hindered we may have to come out and assist by removing your vehicle with a tow truck. This is the last thing we want to do and the parking fine in town for this is $50.00 per incident.
Please make sure that if you need to park on a town road it is for a short time and you are readily available to move your car should an officer need to contact you or you see one of our roadway crews trying to clear the street you are on.
If your vehicle is unable to traverse the roadway and you need to park it please call the police department at 336-7766 so we can have a contact number for you and our dispatch center can make the duty units aware.
If you have questions or are not sure what to do please call us so we can provide assistance and/or guidance.
