Detective Lieutenant Melissa Evans

Lieutenant Evans holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Psychology. Lieutenant Evans has been a police officer since 2009. She began her career with the Windham County Sherriff’s Office in the State of Vermont, spending 6 years assigned to patrolling the Town of Putney. Her time there helped her develop a strong work ethic centered around community policing and community engagement. During her time with the Windham County Sheriff’s Office, she attained the rank of Sergeant. She joined the Hinsdale Police Department in 2017 as a Detective and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in November 2019.  She is currently assigned to the investigation of all major crimes against persons and properties as well as second in command of the department. Lieutenant Evans remains a Field Training Officer for the department.
